Track Conversions from Facebook Ads

Do you track conversions i.e. how many sales you have derived from Facebook?

If you want to know how to track conversions you get from Facebook, then you are on right place.

I will let you know in this little guide about how to do the same in the best possible way.

But, first things first, let’s take a look at what these are?

What is conversion?

Conversion is an action that a person takes on your website. The action may be adding item to shopping cart, registering on a website or filling out a specific form.

As per Facebook,

You can add conversion tracking code to any page of your website. We can create a specific code called Offsite Pixel provided by Facebook. Now the question comes how to create Conversion tracking code:

1. Use Power Editor

You can use power editor (free chrome plug-in). If you have not installed it, then all you need to do is write this in your address bar www.facebook.com/powereditor and download the plug-in.  A window will open on your desktop and you have to click on the conversion tracking as shown in snapshot.

2. Create conversion pixel

After clicking on conversion tracking, another window will open and you have to click on the “create conversion pixel” as showing in following snapshot

Now simply give a name to your conversion pixel as given in example “My First Offsite Pixel” and then click on the categories box to select from the following categories –

  1. Checkouts
  2. Registrations
  3. Leads
  4. Key Page Views
  5. Adds to Cart
  6. Other Website Conversions

3.  Copy and paste the code

After selecting a category, click on create pixel button. A window will appear in front of you with a code. Copy the code and paste to the desired page on which you want to track conversions from Facebook.

Status of that particular pixel will show unverified until you paste the code in < HEAD >< /HEAD > section of desired page. Now, refresh that page where you have added the conversion pixel code. After that, come to the power editor and refresh the tab to confirm that your pixel is active now.

4. Start tracking and monitor results

Create a new ad or you can also edit an existing ad in power editor. In the creative tab of the ad, create flow select the checkbox for a pixel. This is a great way to track conversions from Facebook for a website. You can create conversion pixel for any page of your website and select the desired action.
